Luke's was covered in red, white, and blue bunting, and all of the food was decorated with sparklers. Eliot bit back a groan and steeled himself before facing his kitchen staff -- they knew how he felt about Memorial Day, and he'd already had to field thinly-veiled recruitment calls from both Shelley and Vance this morning, and be polite to his well-meaning niece who thought it was a great idea to thank her long-lost uncle for his many years of service to his country.

When he got into the kitchen, the staff were all dressed in red, white, and blue stripes, and holding large novelty keys.

"Happy early Bastille Day!" his staff cheered.

My high school social group was very aggressive about their weirdness.
