Furnado Animal Shelter, Tuesday
Zack had a bit of a technical difficulty today. He'd gone upstairs to the roof to feed the chickens and clean out their coop, and when he'd gotten there, he realized that there was something a little amiss.
All the chickens had kind of shuffled off to the far side of the coop, and were looking speculatively at one nest in particular, where one of the eggs appeared to have a... a toad sitting on it?
Huh?
He went downstairs to ask the vet on duty if she had any idea what that one was about, and she just shrugged. That didn't sound like the behavior of any toad she'd ever heard of. Figuring there was really nothing else for it, Zack shrugged and brought up a few plates of mealworms and crickets for the toad and the chickens to all enjoy.
