Astrid was expecting another day of mostly tending to flowers and cleaning like her first day last week, but she found herself distracted when she discovered flying duck orchids among the flowers. Fascinated by the illusion, she set out to situate it in a good position for sketching before she then noticed in the corner of her eye the parrot orchids. By the time she'd found the white egret orchid, she figured she had more than enough for a flock, and maybe next week was when she'd do something involving the ballerina and naked man orchids.

Orchids, it seemed, really didn't want to be flowers.
