So... the toad was still sitting on the chicken egg, which Zack was starting to suspect was some kind of dud. But the toad also seemed so content there, Zack didn't really want to move it in order to check.
He'd asked the vet on duty about what she thought of the matter, and was just met with a shrug. So he shrugged too, left more mealworms for the toad, and then got to work cleaning litter boxes and such.
