The cook gave Kanan a big, innocent smile, and then attempted to shove a bowl of some manner of slop at him, a hopeful look in his eye.

"No. I'm really not going to eat that."

"But it's festive!"

"It's not my holiday." Kanan paused. "It's not even a holiday here, is it?"

Summer found it both incredibly repulsive and incredibly fascinating, thus delaying her response quite a bit this time as she had to keep going back to marvel at it.

Okay, she needed to go back to those pancakes again. They made her feel slightly better, one complete mess to another.

I'm going to ask how you approached that one. You didn't just walk up to someone and kiss her without warning, did you?

Summer already had witnessed plenty of worse fates in her short lifetime, and yet somehow, nothing quite stung as a popular girl not knowing who she was for her own birthday party.

Well, a popular girl pretending to be her friend just so she could try to kill her grampa and all his friends came pretty close.

A friend of mine was convinced up and down that I was going to cook to death or something. He threw a beach party Friday night probably specifically to rub that it's hot out in my face. Bought swim trunks for the occasion.

Hera had gotten a swimsuit too, which was something Kanan had been excited about, anyway.
