The Park, Friday Afternoon
Today was significantly nicer than it had been for the past week and some change. Which, admittedly, was a very low bar to trip right on over, but here Kanan was, deciding that being out training with a potential storm on the way was the hill he was willing to die on anyway.
Was he paying attention to the clouds building overhead, growing decidedly more ominous with every passing minute? Maybe. Maybe that was exactly why he was totally fine with being out here today. He'd packed a few plastic rain ponchos in case of the weather actually committing to that threat of a thunderstorm. He'd still packed extra water bottles, because 'nicer' didn't mean it wasn't still humid. And he had a back-up plan in case of rain, where he'd bust down the door to an abandoned warehouse and have any sparring sessions go on there if the rain proved to be too much for anybody who might show up today.
Stance was, as usual, doing his excited puppy prance around the park, and Kanan had his training remote - Shooty McKillface, apparently - out so that he could deflect bolts back at it while he waited for either his usual Friday crew or the weather to arrive.
He enjoyed his entire Friday crew, but if he was being perfectly honest, he was hoping for the weather to get there first.

And since this was something she felt a little less bad about interrupting, as opposed to forms or meditation, she said helpfully, "Don't get hit."

It wasn't bad, so far as goals went.

"Not yet," Kanan replied. And then tilted his head, still blocking bolts left and right. "Do you want to be?"
Because at the moment, his guard was only up in one direction.

He wasn't that category of stupid. He'd thought this through!

Look, class had already gotten her into a trolling kind of mood. Kanan was doomed before she even got out here.

"Hence the warehouse plan," Kanan replied, still leaning hard into something vaguely resembling infinite patience, as another few bolts were deflected back at Shooty. "I'm not in the habit of getting my students cooked if I can help it."

"I'm working on it," he replied. "Naming something this important to me requires some thought."
And nothing quite seemed to sum it up properly.

He was, of course, in armor, playing some sort of plasma weapon baseball with a floaty robot. Kaidan tried not to sigh. Stance provided a good distraction, so he grabbed a seat on the sidelines and played with the pup.

He was, at least, mostly joking about it.

"And also the heat, sure."
But mostly that first one.

But, then again, if she went ahead and had the class at the site like she wanted, she'd have had a fried Beaker on her hands, guaranteed.
She was glad it was holding out for Kanan and his trainees, through, especially so she could watch and jot a few notes in a small notebook as she did it. This was nice, actually getting to observe and research for a good, solid, meaningful project, instead of just "Hey, Amaya, we need fifty more standard Daventry Knights spears because someone got spooked by a sound in the well and they all threw theirs down there."

"Afternoon, Amaya."

You couldn't have a little guy like that and not expect her to want to have a closer look, right?
"We've got magical orbs and things like that at home to do stuff like this, but there's practically magic everywhere there. THat's part of what I love so much around here. Not everything's all about magic."

"Careful with the settings. Up the charge enough and those bolts can do some actual damage."
Mandatory warning, really.
"And there are remotes for things like surveillance and as portable microphones and such. Probably anything you might want a tiny flying ball for, honestly."
