The Park, Friday Afternoon

Well, the weather had cycled right back around to stupid somewhere between last week and this one, and so Kanan was once again sitting in the shade of a large tree and meditating.

This time, though, it looked as though he had come prepared to do exactly that. His armor and boots were set off to the side, so he was sitting barefoot. He'd worn his short-sleeved button down shirt again, not really a sparring shirt, and he had extra bottles of water and even a few cushions set to the side in case anybody cared to join him.

Not that he was sitting on a cushion himself, no. But still.

Stance was, as usual, with him today, although the pup was napping at his side, content to enjoy the shade and the occasional brush of his person checking up on him through the Force.

It was a good day to do not much at all. Though he had brought the bamboo swords along again, just in case meditation wasn't enough to keep people happy.

"Mondays or Tuesdays, like always," Kaidan shrugged. He also resolved to find the most gooey Lawful Good Human Paladin figurine that he could. That had to exist somewhere. He would find it.

That brought to mind the other thing he'd wanted to talk to Kanan about, and he winced a little. "No worries, we can wait until after the radio broadcast, if you're able on Monday. Or Tuesday. Or some other week."

"Gnomes," Kaidan said shortly, then ground his jaw and made himself ask, "You mentioned the portalowhatsit, that could go to different places. How..does that work?"

"No, I mean.. how do you.." Kaidan ground his jaw again, "How would I.. contact them, to find out if they could.."

He couldn't even finish that sentence. He tried. He couldn't. The words just stuck in his throat.

"Don't suppose you know the website address offhand?" he asked. Email. Email would be much better than trying to talk to anyone.

He'd figured out what to do with the Eezo.

"Thanks," Kaidan offered, fidgeting in the grass with the tip of the sword. Which he was still holding, for no good reason.

He nodded, still fidgeting. The words came slowly, but they did come. "There's only one place I can think of that I truly trust, where the Eezo up there," he gestured toward the sky, "won't get misused, even by accident."

"I need to contact the Normandy," he said, after a long, slow breath, "My Normandy."

The last two words hurt. He meant 'his reality's Normandy', but they also weren't incorrect. The Alliance had wanted him to take command of the ship, to have her helmed by the last human Spectre. They didn't understand why he wouldn't. And Kaidan.. had taken leave, rather than deal with it.

"Might," Kaidan acknowledged, "since I can't get up to my ship without you." He hesitated a moment, and offered, "You could come with for the rest of the ride, if you want. If they can even find her."

Part of him hoped they could, the rest of him really hoped it wasn't possible.

Possibly both. Probably both. "Thanks," Kaidan said simply. One corner of his mouth tilted up, "Possibly as a human shield between me and the likely-to-be-angry Krogan."

"Thanks," he offered dryly, "Remember, you said that willingly. I'm just warning you that there's likely to be at least one really annoyed Krogan involved." Probably two, if Wrex left Tuchanka for the sole purpose of headbutting him.

Kanan was probably going to be fine. Kaidan, otoh, had at least three smacks, a headbutt, and probably a very 'I'm so disappointed in you' look coming to him. But only because Liara didn't hit people.

"You'd like the Citadel," Kaidan said, "Even after part of it blew up. The Keepers can damn near work miracles, and it's been almost a year, so who knows - it might be back in fine shape."

It wouldn't be. They'd still be rebuilding. Kaidan knew that. He was just refusing to think about it.
