Near the Causeway, Friday Afternoon
So... it was Friday afternoon, classes were done with for the week, and Jason and Peridot had plans to portal somewhere with ridiculously high cliffs to dive off of. Because Fandom had only 'moderately high places to jump off of' and that wouldn't do.
The Portalocity gnome had looked at Jason kind of strangely when he'd booked the trip earlier this week, and made sure to stress that this trip was "non-refundable, no matter what the circumstances" but that "missed portals to this particular destination could be re-booked within one month of a missed trip". Which... sure? Jason didn't think there was anything short of a full-scale invasion that'd stop him from going on this trip, but you know, whatever.
[ooc: for that one mentioned, but can also be open, though 'Dot thread is chronologically last!]

She looked pretty darn proud of it, too.
"Okay! I'm ready!"
Look how ready she was!
And how ridiculous she looked!
no subject
"You came prepared," he managed, fighting to keep a straight face.
no subject
Obviously.
"Isn't it great??"

She threw her arms up into the air, willing the cans to lift into the air. The intended result, of course, was a dramatic lift upward, as though she could fly.
The actual result was a very impressive faceplant into the ground, her butt up in the air, belt keeping her bottom half from joining the rest.
no subject
"Was that... was that the intended result?" he managed, once he trusted himself to speak again.
no subject
"I might need to make a few small recalibrations," Peridot muttered into the ground.
no subject
"Ugh," he glanced at his phone. "The portal's late, I can't beli-"
whatever else he was about to say was cut off due to a sudden case of no longer being human-shaped.
When Peridot managed to right herself, she'd find a puzzled looking bipedal lizard, maybe half a foot shorter than Peridot herself.
no subject
"Did you just eat Jason?!"
no subject
... Give him a second to figure out that he was no longer human-shaped.
no subject
"Don't you grr at me," Peridot said, pointing a finger at him. "Spit him out, you... you scaly clod!"
Peridot, Jason wouldn't even fit in there.
no subject
What was she on about? Spit him out? Scaly? Jason wasn't-
hey, why was he closer to the ground?
What was wrong with his hands?
He was totally scaly. What the hell?

Meanwhile, Peridot was going to be marching over and attempting to pry his jaws open.
As you do.

He was also trying to gently push Peridot away, but given the relative size of his arms, that wasn't terribly effective.
no subject
And slowly let go. And then took a step away to look at Jason speculatively.
"Was that a scream?"

And now Peridot was squinting again.
"Stomp if you know where Jason went."
no subject
But he did know where he was, so he stomped again.
no subject
And more squinting.
"So... where is he?"
no subject
no subject
...
And then, about ten seconds later, she looked back at him speculatively.
"Jason?"
no subject

Asking the important questions, that Peridot.
no subject
Jason just gave a lizard-y shrug. He had no idea.
no subject
Look, it was worth a try.
no subject
Jason just grumbled sadly; he'd been looking forward to it too, you know.
no subject
"Wanna go back to the dorms and watch Camp Pining Hearts instead?"
no subject
Jason nodded. If they couldn't go cliff-jumping, he supposed that was fine.
no subject
Well, Peridot could talk about it, and Jason could spend that time regretting being a dinosaur.
