Breq was sitting on the counter playing the bass. That was all she intended to do unless anyone stopped by. Not that she would mind being interrupted, but finding the melodies and bass lines on the instrument was fascinating, and she had picked up a few new songs recently. Maybe she could play a few of these for Dante later.
Anyway, there was a Wednesday event today, so she expected it to be quiet.
No, actually, it wasn't true that she was only playing the bass. She also ordered pizza for lunch, making sure her hands were clean enough to touch the instrument again after eating it.
