Verity had missed last week's shift because she'd been a captive of an insane snake cult, but that wasn't a good enough reason to miss this one, too. But Tiny didn't believe her explanation of why she hadn't been here last Monday, so now Verity was coming up with bigger and bigger lies to see which one Tiny would believe.

...Unsurprisingly, it was aliens. Tiny believed wholeheartedly in aliens. Verity just sighed.
