Luke's, Tuesday
Mitsutada actually got to control the specials board today, and he thought long and hard about it.
He eventually settled on something straightforward.
Today's Specials
We Will Feed You Spiders If You Really Want To Eat Them
We Can't Feed You To Spiders, Though
That's Not Our Thing
But If It's Yours
We're Not Here To Judge
That really got away from him.
Luke's was open!And OCD-Free

Luke's was open!

"How about a burger or something? What do you feel like cooking?"

He gave Miguel a wink.
"I'll be back with your meal shortly," he said, stepping into the kitchen. Ten minutes later, he returned with some perfectly grilled and seasoned chicken skewers on a bed of rice, which he set in front of Miguel.

He took a bite and chewed thoughtfully. He swallowed and pointed his fork at Mitsutada. "We should get a grill at the house."

"I'm frightened to ask about the spider thing," she announced.
She was not. She'd come in specifically to ask.
no subject
Yes, that was the reason. Not even vegetables. Sure.

"Okay, but, spiders tend to be tiny," she pointed out. "And if you... deep fry them... does that even leave enough spider to eat? Do you put batter on them first?"
Things she'd never thought about before!

"I don't really want to eat them," Ino admitted. "Not unless my other option is to starve."

Well. Sort of.
"Anything you'd recommend? That's not spiderific?"

Except, vaguely, go see Zack and bring him food.
"How 'bout some kitsune udon, then? Two orders, but skip the meat for one of them, and I'll get it to go."

He smiled. "I am Mitsutada Shokudaikiri," he introduced. "I hope you will be pleased with my cooking."
no subject
"I'm sure I will," she said easily, in Japanese. Or Wutaian. Or whatever his world called it. "Do you prefer Shokudaikiri-san? I'm Iris, though that ain't the name I were born with."

He sent the slip with the order back to the kitchen so they could get it started.

No, no she hadn't been. But he'd find that out in a few days.
no subject
Yeah, he didn't know the half of it yet.

"Because you've met me," Ino said airily. "Though I have been keeping my head down. Maybe if I do it good enough, Jono'll forget he's supposed to ruin my life with teaching this semester."

She shook her head.
"I ain't sayin' he ain't got some good reasons over the years for the brooding he does and did--because that ain't it at all. But I figured, if anyone could teach it, it'd be him and it were meant to be a gentle poke at him."
Ino loved Jono fiercely. She never had any intentions of deliberately hurting him.

Yeah, he'd be helping with that revenge.
"Maybe you should send him flowers or something?"
