Tonight's snacks were not topical. Hopefully everybody would understand why.
Peter smiled to them all as he stood up front and waved. "Today's film is science fiction. That's a kind of film that takes science and extrapolates where it might go in the future. It generally uses a lot of effects to make things look real that aren't. This particular one and its sequel - we'll probably see that one next week - were really popular and get referenced a lot. I've been assured it's pretty much all action and there's no outdated gender role garbage in it, so hopefully it'll be more enjoyable. Also no teenagers," he assured them. "Or people pretending to be them. There are supposed to be some rather disgusting parts, though, so maybe be aware of that."
He pushed play and sat down.

Who'd prefer not being eaten.
Re: Sign in!
Re: Sign in!
Who...
Look, the less said about his weird eating habits, the better.
Arrive/mingle!
Re: Arrive/mingle!
He looked dubiously at the popcorn.
Re: Arrive/mingle!
It... was not beer.
Huh.

Re: Arrive/mingle!
"Never encountered it before," Fjord explained, looking speculatively at the can. "It's.... sweet, isn't it?"
And was bubbling. It was really a miracle his particular can hadn't fizzed over, probably.

Re: Arrive/mingle!
"Seems like a bit of an acquired taste," Fjord mused. "Maybe I'll take it a bit easier on this stuff."
Maybe he'd start avoiding things in cans altogether.

Fjord paused a moment, and then shrugged and nodded an affirmative.
"Please and thank you," he said. And then another moment later he added, "I don't know if you've noticed, but I've taken over payments for the hotel room. I owe you my thanks again for your generosity there."

Re: Arrive/mingle!
One of the... maybe three people he'd met so far who made sense.

Watch the movie!
Also a cat. Sorry, Fjord.
Enjoy!
Re: Watch the movie!
He probably made ...well, entirely appropriate, really.. cheering noises when a Xenomorph bit it.
Re: Watch the movie!
Re: Watch the movie!
But an on-the-television cat was apparently not half the concern a real cat was, so overall, he didn't much mind.
The, ah, the chest-burster things were getting added to The List, though.
