T42 - Thursday 6am-6pm
Hernando entered the shop to a scene of chaos. Bits of vegetable from the quokka's dish littered the floor. The quokka themselves were standing in the suddenly frozen way of children who have just been caught doing something they ought not be doing. Paws held various bits of vegetables.
A small sigh, "A food fight? Really? I guess there is no real harm done. You will help clean up, yes? We must not have the floor in such a state when customers arrive." The quokka gave him identical 'we don't know what you're even talking about; what mess' looks but also began carting bits of vegetable matter out to the planters outside. No need to waste perfectly good compost.
Hernando swept the rest up.
The sign was blank. He frowned. Was it perhaps not feeling well? Crouching in front of it, he asked gently, "Would a chocolate assam, mandarin orange white tea, and some jamaica suffice for today? Or perhaps you have a better idea?"
The words slowly and sleepily rose on the sign.
SPECIALS
Chocolate Assam - hot - 50% off
Mandarin Orange White Leaf - hot or cold - 50% off
Jamaica - pronounced Hah-Mike-Ah - cold - 50% off
Giving it a fond pat, he took the sign outside and placed it under the awning, in some shade where it could nap if necessary. It seemed tired. The quokka had probably kept the store up all night.
He took up his station at the counter and began setting out the pastries.
