Miguel was a little late today, on account of I kept getting sidetracked being up late in his lab at the palace making a flower for Ino. He showed up to disdainful looks from the cook and dishwasher and a haughty sniff from the busboy.

"First person to say anything gets fed to my new project," Miguel declared. "What kinds of waffles are you making today?"

The cook pointed pointedly at the specials sign.

Miguel looked and rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
