Galactica Point, Saturday Afternoon
"Look, you've been here like five times now," Atton said, his hands shoved in his pockets and a crabby expression on his face. "Can't you do your grand tours of the island without dragging me around?"
Mical sighed. "Visas has not seen most of the island," he said. "And I thought I could buy you a--"
"I have been here before," Visas said quietly. "It was... an acrimonious visit."
Atton sighed, and stepped towards the wall, and glanced across the water. "Please nobody take a swing at anyone," he said. "It's been a long August."
Both Visas and Mical stared at him blankly.
"Oh, there's no point in making these cracks when you people don't even know the karking Earth calendar."

Or... something.
When he spotted the trio at Galactica Point, he frowned faintly. He frowned a little more and quietly wondered if the Force was just messing with him this weekend when he got close enough to make out robes.
He didn't approach them outright. He was still putting too much effort into just compartmentalizing after yesterday to feel like he'd be doing anything but imposing. But he did stake out a spot overlooking the water to sit and meditate all the same. There. Good. He'd found his quiet place. Maybe he could get away with just staying right here until Monday.

But as long as Jarrus did not approach, he would do nothing, he reflected. It never helped to push a Padawan too far across their own boundaries.
So he cast a single, inquisitive glance in Kanan's direction, before returning his polite attention to the rant Atton was indulging himself in. Something about bricks and strategically-placed stumbling stones...

...
He really needed to stop blaming the Force for his own insecurities.
After a good fifteen minutes of just sitting there and reflecting, he sighed, stood, and made his way over. If they were busy, they'd tell him. It wasn't like the Masters of his own Order's time had ever been shy about telling Caleb to stop poking his head in at inopportune moments, anyway.

Because he kept running into kriffing Sith Lords.

"I suppose there are a great deal of strangers suddenly present on the island," Mical mused. "Though that is one thing I have never heard Atton complain about..."
"Hey!"
no subject
"It's less the strangers, and more the being expected to sit in my office while they come in and ask questions one by one. Though I'll admit it's been quieter than it could be."
Mara was gone! So no Vader this year, too!
"And you, is your visit going well so far? I hate to interrupt..."
But it seemed as though Mical had been happy to be interrupted.

Oh, Mical.
Atton was clearly repressing a laugh behind him.
"I don't remember it being much worse than this..."
no subject
"... Don't get told much about this place, do you?"
Sorry, Mical. Kanan was kind of grimacing, now.

You know, the things people complained about.

"The nature of this island means there's pretty much always something new to discover," he noted as he looked back at Mical. "Sometimes even for the better. Sure, it's no bustling metropolis or anything, but it is an interdimensional nexus with new concepts filtering in from across time, space, and reality."
There had been a SITH LORD in his office yesterday, Mical. A SITH LORD.

"I'm aware of that, as well," he said. "As that both Mira and, apparently, Visas have visited the island..."
"My visit was brief," Visas said vaguely.
no subject
"Ah," Kanan said, glancing at her, tilting his head a little, and then trying a small smile on for size. "And I suppose family bonding exercises in the park aren't really your speed."
Though now he was picturing these three sitting and making friendship bracelets. So sue him.

Could have stuck around. Didn't.

Visas opened her mouth to speak.
"...I mean, I guess it would've been better than where you did wind up getting your education, never mind," Atton said quickly.
no subject
"These weekends are mostly harmless, either way," he offered. "Just... busy. Harmless but busy."
Which he continued to repeat to himself until Monday, every time.

"No. I don't get visitors."
He didn't have anybody left who could visit.
no subject
"I am sorry," Mical said. "I didn't mean to misstep."

"Atton, did you know of this?" he asked instead, looking over his shoulder at the man.
Atton shrugged. "We have a baby Sith on island," he said. "Figures that she'd have a daddy Sith strolling around."
"...And you didn't think to mention this."
Another shrug. "I mean, I'll notice if she starts killing people or trying to eat a planet."

"She's one of my students," he said, evenly, looking back to Mical. "In the class Hera and I are teaching together about making a difference for the better in the world around us. Had her serving food to the hungry the other week. She's level-headed. Can be reasoned with. I'd go so far as to say she's a decent person who happened to be born Imperial."
And, so help him, he wouldn't hesitate to ignite his blade - which he was wearing openly on his belt this weekend for a change rather than broken down in pieces - to defend her if any Jedi were to go after her with theirs without a damn good reason.
