Community Center Class: Modern Earth Entertainment

Peter stood in front of the class and gave his usual little wave. "No teenagers again this week, and there is a little romance, but not a whole lot. I've seen this one before, and it was a pretty big deal when it came out and a big influence after. It's a comedy, but I think a lot of the jokes translate pretty well? This one does have some annoying gender things going on, but next week's won't, and next week's will make a lot more sense after this week's."

He pressed play and sat down.

There are the standard foods and drinks.

Food? Yup. Drinks? Yup!

Half the reason to come to this time, really, right there. Well, the company was always consistently good, there was that, too, but Amaya would always leave some room for doubt with regards to the movie, but she honestly kind of liked the surprise of it.

Fenris took a different colored can this week. A choice he would later regret because regular Dr. Pepper is so much more ..more.. than Diet Dr. Pepper. The popcorn had been good but this week he found a bag of puffy orange..fingers. They looked like fingers. They probably weren't fingers.

He regarded them. He'd seen the orange head of state on the news. That man's fingers had been this color and just about as short and stumpy. Perhaps these were some sort of strange tribute food? That made him feel weird so he put them back and took the orange triangles instead.

Hours had passed and Liam still didn't have a clear grasp of what his dream meant than he had that morning.

The feeling wasn't unsettling, exactly; nothing so negative. But definitely anticipatory. He wasn't sure what would happen next, but it didn't seem like it would be bad. So he was just going to do his best to go about the normal routine, and that included something he'd missed out on the last couple weeks- the movie night.

And of course he was going to avail himself of some of the snacks. Of course.

Who you gonna call?

Welp. Looked like Fjord was probably going to wander into the shop again tomorrow to find the remnants of another late night for Amaya, who found herself once more a little fascinated with the ideas in the technology presented in the film. Maybe not so much the supernatural elements; she didn't really care to dabble in that sort of thing if she could help it, but she'd been trying her hand on how to incorporate more electricity into her designs, and this was giving her ideas that maybe should have been best left as ideas, but that wasn't exactly the Amaya way, now, was it?

Fjord wasn't 100% sure what was going on in a large portion of this movie. Sure, the demonic possession and ghost stuff seemed pretty straightforward, but...

... Marshmallow man?

Fenris shared a baffled look with Fjord and wordlessly gestured at the screen.

In reply, Fjord just raised his eyebrows, spread his hands, shook his head, and mouthed, "I have no idea."

He's here!

And Amaya didn't forget that she needed to talk to Peter before she left. Of course she wouldn't forget. This was one of the best parts about taking a project.

"Hey, Peter," she said, with a faint grin, "got some good news for ya."

"Hey, Amaya." Peter smiled back. "I hope the movies have been better lately."

"Much better," Amaya agreed, unable to keep a grateful e grin off her face. "Gadgets," she added with a lift of her finger, "I think the key has been some impressive gadgets. Also a decent amount of butt kicking is never a bad touch, either. I do appreciate it, too, though I mean it, don't go out of your way or nothing. There's a weird sort of enjoyment that comes along with the stinkers, too.

"I didn't come to you to talk about the movies, though," she added. "I came to tell you the sword's nearly done, planning on putting the last touches on it Thursday, if you want to swing by and get it."

"Gadgets. I'll keep that in mind," Peter said. He smiled happily about the sword. "I'd love to. I hope it hasn't been too boring for you."

"Boring?" Amaya snorted a laugh. "A good solid piece of work like that? No, sir!" Her hand cut through the air a little. "The day I wind up finding any job boring is the day you might as well end me. Sure, it may be a little more exciting when I've got free reign like with Kanan's sword, but there's a thrill in the challenge of particular specifications, too. Hard to be in a business like mine and not appreciate the beauty of simple and precise."

"I'm glad to hear it," Peter said. "It'll be good to have a sword again, but I've seen the work you did on Kanan's. I'd hate to bore you."

The spookening time has begun and now I'm really, really, REALLY regretting selling my Ghostbusters costume at that garage sale.

Awww!

I'm actually going to be in the office for Halloween this year, and I have no idea what I'm going to do for a costume.
