The park- Wednesday morning

Between the Force and Fandom being Fandom, Jaina knew that if something told her to come back, she should come back. Jag was gone on a diplomatic trip that she had absolutely not wanted to go on, and by now he knew that if she said she had to do something, trust it. Getting a portal had been relatively painless, which was good because the boys were too young to see their mom murder anybody, and then it was time to come back.

Jaina has stopped off at the Perk for coffee and then headed to the park to let them run around for a while, and well, one was. Dax was curled up on the bench next to her, while Daniel kept worrying her by trying to toddle over by the ducks no matter how many times she told him no. They kept walking away, and Jaina could intervene without needing to move, but she was trying not to be overprotective if there wasn't a problem. So she'd just keep a careful eye on things and let it distract her from everything else.

"Hey!" Anakin said, cutting through the park to visit the Bel-sized-hole because it always cheered him up.

Anakin: still an asshole. "I didn't expect you here!"

"I wasn't really expecting to be here," she admitted, looking down at Dax. "Can you say hi to your great-grandpa?"

Dax just kind of looked at him.

At least he didn't burst into tears? So...winning!

"Hello, Dax," Anakin said. "Are you liking the park?"

[solo_sword]

Dax kind of smiled, then moved Jaina's arm so he could hide his face behind it.

"He wasn't expecting to be here, either," she explained. "I figure I'm about half an hour away from him getting overtired and throwing a fit, and the duck-chaser over there to throw a fit because he's not tired."

Daniel had at least stopped a good distance from the ducks, and looked like he might be getting bored of it. Hopefully.

"Well, if you need it, my office is still toddler-proofed from Christopher's visits," Anakin offered. "Nothing breakable anywhere a Force-sensitive kid can get to it."

[solo_sword]

"Thank you," she said, gratefully. "They've been pretty good there for the most part. I feel like I should be thankful for the Fel genes."

Shhh she was not crossing her fingers, the Solos were a completely normal and non-dramatic family.

Anakin smiled. "Are you saying that our family is dramatic in some way?"

[solo_sword]

"I definitely am not," she said, shaking her head. "But Jag would. And probably Tahiri."

She paused.

"And possibly Mom, depending on the day."

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "Not Luke, though."

[solo_sword]

"Not Luke," she confirmed. "But we also haven't had a lot of drama lately, so he wouldn't have anything to say about it anyway."

Suuuure.

"That doesn't seem like us," Anakin teased. "Guess we're due for an influx of something terrible."

[solo_sword]

"Oh, don't say that," Jaina whined sighed. Especially given the terrible she should have coming. "I'd at least like them to be out of the terrible twos before we get something terrible."

[sith_happened]

"How old were you when you were kidnapped the first time?" Anakin checked, already scanning the park for threats.

[solo_sword]

"Uhhh." She paused, having to think about it. "First attempted kidnapping we were I think a few days old? I think the first time it took I was five? But we have better security now."

And Jaina was scary.

[sith_happened]

"Good," Anakin said. "I still have a highly weaponized nanny droid just in case."

[solo_sword]

"Thanks. We're trying not to go that route, though. We're trying to keep them with us as much as possible." She'd come to terms with how she'd grown up, but she still very much didn't want to perpetuate it. "And I'm pretty sure I could take a weaponized nanny droid."

[sith_happened]

"Oh, me too," Anakin said, "but most people trying to take the kids aren't, and it buys me some time to come back and kill them."

He shrugged. "Or maim them. Something."

[solo_sword]

"Oh, no, killing's entirely justified there," Jaina assured him.

And her answer there was immediate, too.
