The shop had decided today was a day for iced tea. Hernando walked through the storage room door to a series of beverage dispensers filled with tea and ice lining the counter. Clear lexan dripped with condensation even with the air conditioning on.
He patted the counter. The weather report had indicated the humidex to be in the realm of the disgusting for the day.
A selection of pastries were put out as sacrifices to display with a note that the rest were being kept refrigerated.
Hernando went to set out the sign.

The quokka were pancake-shaped puddles of fur on the floor to soak up what cool they could from the tiles. Every so often one of them would sort of shuffle sideways to a new spot.
