Another break week, another very quiet shift on the island, and Éponine, who had brought her cat in to work today, was largely amusing herself by making Alouette run all over after the laser pointer she'd acquired. The cat seemed to appreciate the chase far more than she appreciated being picked up and cuddled from time to time.

It was a way to pass some of the time, at least -- when she wasn't cleaning up the confetti that kept spraying out of random mailboxes, anyway. Luckily she was used to that.
