The counter was wiped down and the pastries put into their display.
Too tired to stand all day, Hernando retrieved a comfortable barstool from his residence and sat behind the counter. He steeped himself a mug of the herbal partly to try it - and it was tasty - and partly to help ward off whatever ague was trying to take him over.
