Apparently, what Astrid had been doing for the signage around the store had suited Summer pretty well, since she'd left a project waiting for the vandal-turned-employee when she got in for her shift after her class for the day. And it was actually a pretty good one, too, taking the classic Thanksgiving hand-print turkey idea and amping it up to Astrid's particular artistic talents to make them a little more elaborate and eye-catching, and then put them around the store to denote holiday favorites. Elementary school busy work made a little more sophisticated and useful.
Of course, Astrid wound up using way more product off the shelf to decorate the turkey signs that Summer probably intended, but, hey, if she was working here to work off the payment on the front window, what was another day added on to cover the cost of extra art supplies?
She was mostly just proud that she'd managed to convince Apu to make a few of his own, too.
