Covent Garden Flowers, Wednesday
The flowers were behaving today, with just occasional chirrups and humming to show it wasn't a usual flower shop. A few of the plants near the door caught at his sleeves until he moved them someplace warmer, but that wasn't too bad. The kittenwillow was determined to curl up on top of Peter any time he sat still for a minute.
Peter ended up doing the books, ordering holiday arrangements, and preparing for the potential onslaught of baby flower orders Kaidan had warned him about.
Covent Garden was open!

See Kanan. See Kanan wander in with his eyes a little wide, looking utterly out of his depth as he peered around the shop.
"... Apparently giving flowers to new parents is a thing I didn't know about until after the new parents were new parents."
He'd been remiss in his dumbass bar friend duties.

"... Baby ones."
Kanan was a lost cause.

"These are all very...pink." He searched for anything else, and eventually found something with yellow roses, daisies, and babies' breath. "How about something like this? We've got those flowers. Or just take a look around and see what you like. Yellow and green are good neutral colors. Unless you like pink. I'm not going to assume."

This bouquet nontraditional on account of the Jedi not entirely grasping Earth's obsession for 'girl babies in pink, boy babies in blue.'

That... was how fun worked, right?

"... That would do."
Peter could have suggested paying a man to jump out of a cake with these flowers and Kanan would probably just smile and nod his agreement.

"Okay, we'll do that. Do you want any ribbons or a card or anything?"

And then he honed right in on a small selection of little stuffed toys attached to sticks, like a bomber pilot zeroing in on a target.
"And that."
The green one. The bunny that was green.

Kanan. She was born yesterday. She wasn't going to be crawling around in broken glass any time soon.
Hopefully never.

He picked out a wide-bottomed yellow one, put in the rainbow roses, then surrounded them with pink and yellow tulips, with purple baby's breath in the middle, and stuck the stuffed animal up in the back. "How's that?"
no subject
"I like it."
He was terrible at this. Why was anybody asking him what he thought about anything artistic? This was why he was paying someone to put things together into something pretty, clearly.

Which, in hindsight, he was kind of just hoping would be soon. But... baby.
Baby, dammit.

Yeah, this guy was hopeless, Peter.
"I think maybe I'll pick it up, then."

Which he knew from all of the 'no experience at all' that he had.

Kanan had been burned by a rogue google search before.
