The store was more or less back to its usual self. The color themes were warm and spoke of autumn, dark reds and shades of brown and gold. The art on the walls had changed out and there were many landscapes with trees expressing their seasonal change. Cornucopias had squash and root vegetables with apples and pears. Portraits were themed with fireplaces and cozy indoor scenes.

The sign had changed form. Hernando walked over to investigate. Instead of a hinged sidewalk style, it was now on hooks. He glanced at the window and saw a corresponding rod to hang it on. Hernando gave the sign a small pat. "It is ok. I would not wish to put you outside in the snow. We shall both stay indoors where it is warm, yes?" The sign couldn't rattle in response but it did waggle a little.

He hung the sign on the rod and walked over to begin setting out the pastries.

Kaidan ended his jog by Hernando's shop. Heading inside, he flopped into a chair and dropped his head onto arms crossed on the table with a small disgruntled burbling noise.

Hernando watched Kaidan collapse onto the table and chuckled softly. He pulled together a cup of the apple tea and plated a pastry. When the tea had steeped, he brought it to the table and set it in front of Kaidan and took the seat across from him.

"Will your hair zap me right now?" he asked, amused.

Kaidan rolled his forehead back and forth along an arm. "Not on my account," he answered verbally, "Might, due to the dry, cold weather."

Hernando thought about it a moment. "I'll risk it," he chuckled while reaching to rest a hand on the back of Kaidan's head. "Are you alright? That was quite the dramatic entrance, my friend."

"Tired," Kaidan answered honestly, "My brain's chewing on data and giving me a headache. Even running's not clearing it enough. May take the shuttle up tonight just to get off the rock, see if the empty void of space helps."

"If that would help, that is what you should do," Hernando said simply, ruffling his hair a little. "Before that, you should sit up and have some tea and a snack. Low blood sugar does not improve your mood, Kaidan."

Kaidan lifted his head enough he could peer at Hernando with one eye and a raised brow. "I had breakfast," he noted wryly, "I generally don't try to run on an empty stomach."

Then he pushed himself back upright and scrubbed his hands over his face. "Yeah, alright. Tea. Thanks."
