Blackstone Foundry and Forge, Wednesday
Fjord had had his few days to cool off, to get his head around being that short, awkward green kid with tusks over the course of the weekend, an experience that he had never figured he'd have to have again.
Really, one that he'd never wanted to have again, either.
Yesterday, in spite of his ridiculousconstitution stat ability to tough out most things, had been spent with the mother of all hangovers after an ill-advised amount of drinking on Monday, and the dregs of it were still stubbornly lingering today. Which was fantastic, really, when the majority of his work at the Forge involved things like hammering and grinding. Still, he had dutifully shown up for his shift today, feeling a little more green around the gills (it should be noted that he did not, in fact, have gills) than he'd care to admit, and, at least until Amaya made an appearance, he was going to just... go over order sheets, maybe figure out if there were any requests for things he could cast from the foundry in lieu of working on the bevel of his sword this morning.
Wednesday, and the weekend was still plaguing him. Hooray.

She was a little surprised to come down and find the place so quiet, though, half-wondering if he hadn't made it in that morning for whatever reason. Not that it would have been an issue if he didn't, but she was glad to see that wasn't the case.
"'Morning, Fjord," she said, offering out the mug.
She wanted to say it looked like he needed it, but...it was honestly hard to tell.

"Morning, Amaya," Fjord replied, giving a gracious nod of his head - that he instantly regretted - as he reached to take the offered coffee. "Needed this, I think."
So, there was the answer to that.
Where was a cleric when you needed one?

Though it was in Amaya's opinion that coffee got'cha pretty close.
"Rough night?" she guessed.

"Extra rough Monday," Fjord supplied. "Didn't take the weekend as well as I could have. Got a bit ambitious with the whiskey."
And beer. And more beer. And then another beer.

"You know you can take a day off if you need to, this week," she offered. "Blacksmithing's not exactly very good hangover work."
Said with the tone of someone who had definitely been there at least once or twice herself.

Fjord almost visibly sagged in relief. Tried not to, but it felt like his head was trying to turn inside-out and his insides were attempting to escape. It was a difficult sort of relief to hide.
"I'd hate to shirk my duties over a problem I've brought down on myself," he said. Hedged, really. "I, ah, really figured this would be done with by now."
Somebody failed that constitution check, yeah.

And here she offered at least a faint smirk. "Assuming you manage to shake it off by then."

"I should be good by next week," he replied, wryly. "And this gives you a week to come up with that much more to keep me busy with."
That'd learn him.

"I can probably think of a good amount of stuff in a whole extra week," she agreed easily enough.

Maybe if they were both lucky, she'd have a large order of something heavy for him to heft around.

Amaya just grinned a little as she let Fjord savor that sip. It wasn't like she was going to be able to get anything started on anything until he got out of here, anyway, not unless she wanted to wind up feeling kind of bad about it.
"You want me to go fill a thermos of that stuff for you for the journey back home?" she offered.

Not that it would stop him from attempting to bring home some hair-of-the-dog today, granted.
"Only if you've got some ready to spare," he decided, smiling a little. "I can imagine you're anxious to get to work as it is."
