Furnado Animal Shelter; Sunday [01/06].
Since Summer knew she'd be dragging herself out of her apartment at least for the weekly drop-in at Luke's, she figured she might as well make the most of her Sunday and make it her main day for keeping tabs on the shelter. Or at least for this week. Who knew? The nice thing about it was that she could just pop in whenever she felt like it, especially since Zack was still handling some of the finer deets remotely. She wasn't even entirely sure what she was supposed to be doing, really, except maybe just making sure the place didn't burn down or the animals didn't escape and start running amuck or whatever and maybe just making sure the orders being placed for product matched up with the orders that were arriving, making sure any new arrivals were situated and comfortable and all good to go.
She didn't know exactly how it had happened. She was sitting at the counter, just going through some of the paperwork on the pets to get to know more about them, and when she went to get up, she'd discovered there'd been a cat curled up on her lap. She blinked, looked down at the cat, wondered just how long she'd been there, and the cat blinked, looked back up at her, and started to purr. There was almost something aggressive in that purr, like it was a reminder to Summer that the cat was currently very comfortable and it would kind of be a shame if anyone were to disturb that comfort. You didn't really need to get up right then, now, did you, Summer??
Summer blinked at the cat again, who took a second to yawn dramatically, before settling in even more comfortably.
...y'know, the cat was probably right. She didn't need to get up, anyway...
