Covent Garden Flowers; Tuesday [01/08].

Astrid and Tickles sort of had an unspoken understanding; she went about her business and the shop's mascot-slash-pet-slash-whatever-he-was went about his. They basically ignored each other and it had been working out pretty well for them so far. But that day, once Astrid came in for her shift, Tickles seemed to be in a modeling mood, nudging Astrid and Astrid's sketchbook until she got the hint that he wanted to be drawn.

And so that was how most of Astrid's day was spent, filling a sketchbook with pictures of a strange little kittenwillow thing. She had to admit, though, he made for an excellent model, creative in his poses, patient enough to give her time to get one down well enough before going into the next, even using some of the other things about the shop for props and accents.

If anything, it sure as hell beat dealing with those Valentine's Day orders already coming in; she understood and could appreciate thinking ahead, but, good Lord, people. Astrid could already tell, the lukewarm, indifferent feelings she had about that holiday were going to be swayed dramatically toward the negative by the end of next month, weren't they?
