T42 - Thursday 6am-6pm
The store had decorated itself with bookshelves. They were artfully arranged with little call-out nooks for paintings and small sculpture pieces but the entire far wall had turned into something that looked like a library. The tables were decorated with banker's lamps for reading and many of the straightback chairs had been replaced with more cushioned wingbacks. There were large cushions on the hearth in front of the fireplace and a comfortable looking rug for lounging on.
The quokka had largely taken possession of the rug and were small puddles of fur snoozing in the warmth. Dave was closest to the fire and occasionally rose up to box at one of the smaller quokka for getting too close.
Hernando blinked and checked the counter to make sure it was still, yes, a tea shop. The counter was spread with tea cakes, cookies, dunkers, tiny plates of mixed dried fruits, and a small heap of fairy bread. He gave that a pursed-lip look. Commercial white bread cut crustless and spread thinly with butter then covered in hundreds and thousands did not look like something he wanted to sell people. Perhaps he could just give it away.
The specials sign was missing. He frowned and went looking for it but it was either not a plan for today or it was being mischievous and hiding. With a shrug he went to unlock the door and open.
[Open!]
