"Whaddya mean, he already did it?" asked Prompto, when he got to work that day and went to go do something that he usually did every week, only to be informed by the vet that Sidon had already done it, because Sidon had stayed after his shift yesterday to do some extra work. And while Prompto was glad to hear that he had one less thing to do that day, this news still struck a troublesome chord with him.
"That doesn't mean I have to stay late this week, too, does it?"
It did not, and, swayed by the rush of emotions that went with a sudden dread followed by instant relief, Prompto was inspired to toss all the pet bed into the puppy pen so that he could comfortably launch himself over the gate onto them and just pretty much roll around with the pups today, because, hey, that was important work too and it was work he was really, really good at.
