The fun thing about having a baby with a cold was that it meant Kitty was walking into work with the sniffles.
Not that she was sick. Nope.
Tino might be handling making the drinks tonight, though. Kitty was just the i versatile person.

Tact? Not usually her strong suit, and she was mostly just trying to figure out if it was merely baby-related or something that would require her to calculate the best distance to keep that still allowed for a comfortable conversation to happen.

But that stuffiness was more than enough to answer Rosa's question to the point where she might be sitting slightly further back that usual. Not because she was worried about getting sick, of course. She didn't get sick. But, you know...she didn't like being close to people, anyway.

"Well, good," she said. "Not that I was worried or anything. Diazes don't get sick. But, you know...other people."
Because, sure, you being concerned about other people's well-being was way more believable, Rosa.

Because she didn't believe it at all.

"...nope," she decided. "Never."
Just ignore the whole station of troopers and one Hot Leaf Water that could contest otherwise. Ralph had even subbed for her class.
But they were all clearly lying stupid jerks who couldn't be trusted.

And that was, like, child endangerment, or something.

It should be said that Kitty didn't trust this enough to let her do it.

"Sure," she shrugged. "Because they only see Tia Rosa for holidays and special events."

She didn't know where she was going with this. To be fair, she hadn't slept a ton... in months.

And the cool aunt was never the babysitter aunt.
The cool aunt was the aunt that sometimes showed you bags of hands.

Was it, Kitty?
