Caritas- Tuesday

The fun thing about having a baby with a cold was that it meant Kitty was walking into work with the sniffles.

Not that she was sick. Nope.

Tino might be handling making the drinks tonight, though. Kitty was just the i versatile person.

"Well," said Rosa, "you've looked better."

Tact? Not usually her strong suit, and she was mostly just trying to figure out if it was merely baby-related or something that would require her to calculate the best distance to keep that still allowed for a comfortable conversation to happen.

Diazes didn't get sick, sure...

...but even though they didn't, they tended to get locked in evidence rooms when people thought they did.

Psh. Normal greetings.

But that stuffiness was more than enough to answer Rosa's question to the point where she might be sitting slightly further back that usual. Not because she was worried about getting sick, of course. She didn't get sick. But, you know...she didn't like being close to people, anyway.

Extra for when they sniffled.

"Please tell me the only reason you're here right now is because things are worse at home and you're making your husband deal with it."

She still barely knew the guy, but the idea of irritating stuff being foisted on Clint brought her more happiness than it probably ever should.

Oh, yeah. Rosa looked super convinced, too.

"Well, good," she said. "Not that I was worried or anything. Diazes don't get sick. But, you know...other people."

Because, sure, you being concerned about other people's well-being was way more believable, Rosa.

There was a long, debating pause, the sort that definitely shouldn't exist for a cold, hard fact.

"...nope," she decided. "Never."

Just ignore the whole station of troopers and one Hot Leaf Water that could contest otherwise. Ralph had even subbed for her class.

But they were all clearly lying stupid jerks who couldn't be trusted.
died8yearsago: (yup that sounds about right)

"On the one hand," Rosa pointed out, "it's true. My immunity is amazing. But on the other hand," and this was the important part that had Rosa not at all worried about this supposed threat, "that's me watching your kid."

And that was, like, child endangerment, or something.

"Kitty." Rosa leveled a very 'you're smarter than this' look at her. "I have multiple nieces and nephews. Years of irrefutable evidence that I am not good at it."
died8yearsago: (i just like the hair in this one)

Kitty. She'd used multiple because she wasn't entirely sure exactly how many there even were.

"Sure," she shrugged. "Because they only see Tia Rosa for holidays and special events."

"Well, yeah," said Rosa. "Obviously."

And the cool aunt was never the babysitter aunt.

The cool aunt was the aunt that sometimes showed you bags of hands.
