Blackstone Foundry and Forge, Wednesday
Fjord was... in a better mood today than he'd been yesterday. Another good night's sleep and another day spent beating his accent back into submission had helped. And besides, he had plans, today.
There was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary about a man who worked at the forge coming in to peruse the stock at the forge, no. And tossing the squirrels a bribe when he waited until Amaya was off teaching so that he could select a delicately detailed sword off the weapons wall and ring it up for himself was easily done. He'd been given more than three seconds to think about something and at least two words of encouragement on the matter, you had better believe a certain civilized somebody was going to be getting an anonymous sword delivered to her door in the dead of night tonight.
With that plan all sorted out and his organization project finally finished, he was settling in to make some work for himself while he waited for Amaya to hand him something new to do. A new dagger, naturally. All the better to distance himself from the anonymous sword today, after all.
And besides, sometimes daggers were just nice to have.
... This one might have been turning out a little on the smallish side, though. Ah well. Maybe someone would get it for their kid or something.

Wednesday at the Forge. As practical and dependable as the people who work there. Most of the time, anyway.
"How've you been?"
no subject
Ah, dependability. He appreciated that.
"And yourself, Amaya?"

And going by the way his lip curled enough to show just the slightest bit of tusk and his nose wrinkled, he clearly didn't approve.

"Not a particularly good discovery, was it?" she ventured, figuring that's generally what you get for venturing away from meats on sticks, really.

"That shit was vile," Fjord replied, that face not going anywhere. "... Salsa's not half bad, though. Managed to chase out most of the flavor of regret, anyway."
Apparently sour cream was the devil, but he could probably just do salsa shots if the mood struck him.

"I stayed put myself, really," she admitted. "Probably for the best, though not nearly as exciting as sour cream. Only thing I managed to discover was reading through a few books for the second first time."
Which...had actually been really nice and exciting in a different way, if she was honest about it.

"Sounds nice," Fjord offered. "If you're keeping them around, you enjoy them, right?"
So, experiencing something you liked for the first time again didn't sound so bad.

"True enough, that," Fjord agreed. "Not that I mind exploring every now and again, but Fenris and I are lucky the worst of it was the sour fucking cream."
Fjord had feelings about that stuff, apparently.

Sour cream was not.

That one just felt not worth getting into, really, and maybe time for a change of topic.
Maybe just to see how long it took him to get around to sour cream again.
"Burritos are fine," she echoed instead, since that was a point that seemed generally irrefutable. "A quality lesson there. And what do you suppose you'll be occupying yourself with around the shop today, Fjord?"

"I was thinking of getting back into bladed weapons, if you'd be amenable to letting me give my hand a try at it," he mused. "Try my hand at some daggers, maybe, since those seem to be popular around here."
