Vette was kind of sad the little pi-rats were gone. She'd definitely done some wheedling, hoping that at least one of them would decide to stay and keep her piratey company, but it had been to no avail. The call of the open sea had been a strong one, and Vette didn't have a crew, let alone a ship.

Her sort of ship would have been a very different one, anyway.

She decided to distract her from her mild disappointment by going through the stock at work today, and was almost immediately pleased and a little surprised to find a blunderbuss in amongst the wares.

... She wasn't going to buy it or anything. But she was absolutely going to take it into the range during her break today to see how it handled.
