Blackstone Foundry and Forge, Wednesday
Okay, good. Wednesday had rolled around, and that meant Fjord could go back to work and throw himself into geting done whatever needed to be done. Hit things with hammers. Work off some of that excess frustration that reached all the way the hell back to two Wednesdays ago. He was reasonably certain he had the whole 'throwing star' situation handled, had possibly even made too many somewhere in there. The supply closet had a door again. The shelving seemed to be in order...
He was going to start a new sword today, to be worked on in between actual projects handed to him by Amaya. That was what he was going to do. And with any luck, the amount of hammering he was going to do today would mean he'd be able to come to work less frustrated with life in general next week.
... It really wouldn't, but wasn't wishful thinking great?

...it could have been worse. It could have been a lot worse. For example, at least only one person had come into the shop, because she'd been just about ready to scrap with a squirrel for looking at her funny.
"'Morning, Fjord!" Annnnd there was the coffee, which took a bit longer to make that day, on account of the fact that Amaya had put together a Rube Goldberg machine for that, too, because why not, not that Fjord would know that, and she grinned. "How was your weekend?"

Echidna, Fjord. It was a monotreme.
"How'd you fare?"

"Animal names are better," she added, with a pump of her fist. "Tiger Clan. Dragon Clan. Now those are some names with some real bite to them."
Yes. She'd spent a lot of time thinking about this since yesterday.
"Foot Clan!" Yup, still a little mystified by it, and she shook her head a little before moving on. "Just about nearly kicked Seivarden's head off when she came in, though; that might make for an awkward conversation later."

Fjord was just kind of nodding along with most of that. Sure, foot was a stupid name for anything that wanted to take itself seriously. Yes, animals were definitely far more fearsome, and wouldn't it indeed be awkward when--
He paused. And blinked.
And then the tiniest smirk crossed his lips.
Sorry, Amaya. Fjord was laughing hysterically on the inside. On the outside, mostly he just grinned and drawled, "Oh, did you now?"

Fjord glanced at the axe, and then made a soft snorting sound. Finally decided she didn't want all those uncivilized weapons cluttering up her place, huh?
Good-o.
"Would've been unpleasant all around if things went a little differently," he mused, smirking faintly. "Glad you're in one piece, Amaya."

"I'm still a little put out that it didn't clear up until Tuesday, though," she admitted. "I always feel bad missing movie class, but hopefully, it wasn't anything too good."
Musicals.
She really hoped it was one of those blasted musicals. Nothing to miss there!

"Some thing about a guy who gets blasted into space," Fjord offered. "And I think there were warrior people who were part bird? I don't know, I was mostly there for the free popcorn."
no subject
"Sounds like knuckle-brained, five-foot-tall talking rodent you had some pretty decent priorities, at least," Amaya noted. "But zards! Those space ones are always my favorite. Did the props and set pieces look like something I could have probably have made blindfolded with one arm tied behind my back before my coffee, too?"
no subject
Fjord grinned a little.
"Absolutely did," he agreed. "And hell if I could follow the plot. But there was definitely a lot of fighting."
no subject
Not that she'd been very hard to convince.
Amaya sighed. "Guess I'll just have to ask Peter about the name. And then maybe finally consider getting one of those television things..."
Oooh, or make one!
How hard could it be??

Said the guy who had three jobs because he was bored.

If she was going to get lost in a story by herself, might as well just read a book.

Like a double feature!
Not that Fjord knew what that was.

If she really thought about it, though, they really had been veering a bit that way more often than not this time around, hadn't they?
"But I'm sure if it turns out there's someone out there who can't handle all that fun and excitement, then they're more than welcome to mention it."
Like she alway made a point to do with the musicals and mushy ones.

If he was, she might just have to go and resort some other strong opinions she had about a few things.

"The action suits me just fine," he replied. "I got my fill of musicals in class last week, and mushy stuf was never on my radar in the first place."
No time for mush, no interest in romance.

"Good," Amaya snorted faintly after a firm nod. "I was almost starting to think you were trying to subtly make a suggestion there, but, as that's thankfully not the case, I'll take it as a compliment and say you're welcome. I'm glad I can do my part in ensuring those movie maintain a certain quality, as I do anything I'm passionate about."

Maybe?
Really, he was actually kind of awful at it.
