Syndulla Scrap, Thursday
Vette had a lot to think about, and while her talk with Nina last night had at least managed to get a little of what was chewing at the inside of her head out into the open, none of it had really gone away, either.
And so it was a subdued Vette going through the scrap today, digging up little pieces of things that had rusted well beyond salvage, and then just sitting on the edge of the Bitey Bits pen and throwing her finds to them to have at, snapping and rending at the scraps until the only thing left behind was a fine scattering of rust powder and a larger collection of metal chips on the ground.
It was like spring cleaning and venting, all rolled into one. And hey, if anyone asked, she was totally writing this stuff off of the inventory list as she went.
Productivity.

And 'lo, there was Nina.
And Prompto too, but let's be real, he wasn't the one with the lungs on him.
"We're going on vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also lunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
no subject
"But not necessarily in that order," he added, because he felt that might be a very important distinction.

Also because it sounded like the thing to do?

"For the record," he said, holding up his hands as if in defence, "it's only for two weeks, and I'm coming back for graduation weekend in between, too, but, yes, because of this, you two have to go somewhere nice and make me totally sick with envy."
no subject
She would not.
She'd probably squish him to within an inch of his life, though.
"Soooo, what kind of vacation would it take to make Gunshow here envious, hm? A resort planet? The world where everything is puppies? That actual kitty game, but in real life?"
no subject
"What kitty game????????????"
no subject
"Only the best kitty game in the whole wide world," he gushed. "I'll show you after lunch."
He may have offered to have Nina look after his crops while he was gone, too, but no way he was letting Nina have (direct, permissible) access to his computer. Those crops were totally dying.
"Which, may I remind you, is the whole reason we're here."
Don't promise a man lunch and then distract him with adorable kitty games!
no subject
The kitty game was the best.
"... But yeah, lunch! So, what did you weirdos have in mind?"

Instead of...you know...getting into an argument and then deftly pretending like nothing happened!

The poor sap threw another piece of scrap at the biteys.

She wasn't from this universe, Vette!

Plus, the dude loved his food.
"Oooooh, tacos!" he said, latching on easily to that, although, really, he was likely to latch onto anything at this point. It was a shocker his stomach wasn't chiming in with an opinion, too. "Let's get tacos!"

They were, indeed, probably the greatest invention on Earth.
Still not spicy enough, but they were delightful little bundles of tastiness all the same. And... well. Vette mostly just wanted to be out of here and hanging out with her friends rather than sitting with her own stupid thoughts and some animate metal bits anyhow.
"Sounds like a plan, then."
She hopped down off the fence to join them.
