Caritas- Tuesday
Someone had delivered a lot of pizzas to the bar. Tino didn't do it, Kitty definitely did it do it, but they'd insisted on delivering them and not taking them back.
SPECIALS
TAKE SOME PIZZA
She'd just be chowing down on a slice of cheese until someone showed up.
[Open, no OCD! I'm not allowed pizza for two weeks so I tortured myself, apparently.]

Or several gift pizzas.

Kitty, she trusted (almost) entirely.
Tino, not so much.
Like.
At all.
Not even for pizza.
But Rosa would, almost always, look every gift pizza in the mouth.

Remember? Remember when the quiet used to drive you crazy, Rosa?
Ahhh, the good ol' days.

Of course, there was a flip side to that experience, the side that knew that the idea of half a month passing by around here without something weird or annoying happening was unheard of, but optimism, Kitty. Rosa was embracing optimism here, or at least trying to, so she wasn't going to ruin things by pointing that out, she was just going to eat her pizza and pretend it was going to be a nice, normal, quiet two weeks, or so help her, someone was getting punched.
JUST LET HER HAVE THIS MOMENT, OKAY.

Kitty wasn't just great; she was the best.
It almost seemed like a shame to ruin it, but since she'd skipped out on last week, Rosa kind of missed a little of their dumb idle banter, so, after a few bites, a swig to wash it down, she ventured ahead with hopefully safe and bullshit small talk with one of the few people with which that was actually tolerable. Even enjoyable.
"You teaching again this summer?"

Because, yeah, teaching one class a week was really digging into that and everything.
"I'm locked in, though. Some weird thing in my contract out here, I don't care enough to fight it, especially since they don't really seem to care about too many teaching standards here anyway. But maybe. We'll have to see if this time around, it's actually the class I submitted and not something completely different like this last semester."
Seriously, if they messed it up again, that moose was going to have it coming. Rosa had never punched a moose before, but Rosa would be more than happy to check that box on her to-do list.

"What class are you trying to teach?" Kitty wondered.

Her head tilted a little, though, not really sure how far cultural references still got you when it came to the whole multiverse thig. "You ever watch that show," she ventured, "in the '80s and '90s? Lots of spandex, so you should aprreciate it. American Gladiators?"

"Oh, they have to let you," Kitty grinned. "Have to."

"Right?" she said, glad to know she could have Kitty in her corner on this one. "I just...really need to be able to make kids hit each other with giant foam Q-Tips."

"Right into water, right?" Kitty checked.

So...yeah. Definitely right into the water.

No one had ever offered to hold down a moose for her before.
Felt nice.
