Pick Your Poison, Tuesday
Given the completely lukewarm reaction she'd gotten from Zack over text, Iris had taken the hint and not even bothered to go, well, it wasn't home, but to the apartment over the Boards. She hadn't really slept either, having headed over to her (her?) shop to inspect what was going on there.
The reality of it was a far cry from her memories, which confused her until she realized that, having been gone so long… well, it was really amazing there was anything to sell in the shop at all.
Maybe she'd give her minion a raise?
It was something to mull over in the wee hours of the night as she rolled up her sleeves and fell to weeding and inspecting all of her plants in what was, really, quite an impressive greenhouse for them. By the time dawn hit, she'd flipped the sign to open, shoved everything that wasn't her stuff down near the corner of shame (she appreciated the work that had gone into it, but really, she was going to have to teach her minion better) and was at work creating everything she'd need to do a full re-stock.
She'd have to talk to Zack at some point, and soon, but for the moment Iris was fine giving him his space.
Pick Your Poison is Open!
[And OCD free!]

Jono was at home, yes, just hanging out on his crappy IKEA sofa (someday Hannibal would manage to get rid of it, but he'd have to get Jonothon's ass out of it first) but figured now was as good a time as any to acknowledge the... familiar? ... mind that he'd noticed hanging around the island since yesterday.

Jono? she said, after a few seconds of mentally shuffling through memories to figure out who the voice belonged to.

Translation: You seemed off somehow and I was concerned.

She shook her head sharply.
There's been some... changes, she admitted, since she was pretty sure that he could already tell that.

Quiet. The island was bloody quiet. He'd been starting to get that itching feeling that he'd be doing more good elsewhere, and was steadfastly reminding himself that going home always, always ended horribly for him.

Honestly, even though Zack was well entitled to his space and she was going to give it to him, it was desperately lonely, being on this island without being near him and knowing that she'd left Tseng behind.
I wouldn't mind a little fussing, Iris admitted. If you've the time for that.

Hot chocolate's probably safer; I've been working with my plants and those are not all kitty-safe.
She'd just have to snuggle the kitten later.

Had to check.
Wasn't completely certain who he was talking to, after all. And that was a dance he'd danced before himself. More than once.

Yeah, that's fine. Thanks.
She wasn't all that sure of who was answering these days.

//Rescue,// he announced, reaching to set the cup down on the counter, //has arrived.//
In the form of hot chocolate. Fear him.
