Kanan was squinting at the specials board today, yes.

"I mean, I guess it's thematic for the weekend," he noted, "but how are those any different from regular pancakes?"

"Just what yoga class needs," Kanan replied, still amused. "Me, of all people. I'll show up in knee-high leather boots with a blaster strapped to my hip, I'm sure I'll fit right in."

The blaster was non-negotiable.

"You can show up in whatever footwear you want but you need to take it off at the door," Jack chuckled, "Yoga's done barefoot. The blaster wouldn't get in the way, either."

Guess who was going to be doing morning yoga someday soon. Guess!

"Are there even yoga classes on the island?"

Kanan was asking the important questions now, clearly.

The potentially damning ones, granted. Answers to this one meant he could potentially end up getting dragged off somewhere to learn regardless, after all.

"I don't know," Jack said cheerfully, "I do my shit with Kaidan at his place. It's almost warm enough to start using the beach. But I will absolutely hire a too-perky leotard-wearing yoga bunny for the occasion, ickle."

"I can actually follow far too many words in that sentence," Kanan noted, shaking his head a little. "And now I'm afraid."

"Did you just admit to being afraid of a leotard-clad yoga bunny, ickle?" Jack asked, amused.

"The whole mental image you've just painted is basically Summer," Kanan replied, shrugging. "But telling me how to rearrange my legs and breathe in order to..."

He paused.

"I'm not actually sure what the goal is."

"Maintain flexibility and settle your fucking mind and shit," Jack informed him, "It's mostly a good way to let your brain zone right the fuck out. Active meditating."

"Huh," Kanan replied. Did he actually look thoughtful, there? He did! "Okay, so I might be able to make use of that, yeah."

"Yeah," Jack drawled wryly, "Kinda why I fucking suggested it, ickle. Teasing the shit out of you is fun and all but also I kind of had a point here."

She took a drink of coffee and added, "Also that it might make our favorite shithead less twitchy."

Kanan considered that, too.

"Less twitchy about me, or he could use a few yoga lessons himself?"

'Both' was a totally legitimate reply, here.

Jack blinked. "He does this shit every fucking day, ickle. It's his stretch out before he goes running. I'm not that into it, I go over a few times a week. Nah, I meant twitchy about you. He hasn't been worse lately or anything. I'm just determined to pry his fucking brain out of wherever it's been, you know?"

She figured he did.

"Yeah, I know," Kanan replied, smiling crookedly. "I guess for the sake of putting Kaidan's head to rights, I'm willing to give it a shot, sure."

"You agreed before that part anyway," Jack pointed out with sibling pedantry, "Just be lucky I'm not making you wear leggings."

... she didn't figure he'd care if she did.

Kanan shrugged.

"So I am considering myself lucky," he reported. "Can't be much worse than whatever you're going to make me wear to go dancing, can they?"

Jack calmly rummaged out her phone, typed in a search phrase, and showed him just how much worse it could be.

"You tell me."

Well.

Now Kanan was staring.

"... Jury's still out until I see my dancing gear," he said, after a long moment.

Jack snickered evilly, "You're not seeing that until it's time to stuff you into it."

Mostly because she didn't have pictures. Should've taken some.

Though.. She scrolled through her phone and showed him a picture of the outfit she'd picked out for Sparkle. All black lace and velvet and burn-outs and chains. An outfit made of boldness or anger, depending on the attitude it was worn with. "Just so you know my general aesthetic. That's what I bought Sparkle for Christmas."

"There's one hell of an outfit," Kanan noted, looking thoughtfully at the whole ensemble. "Not really my style, but I can appreciate that."

... Really, Kanan's style was kind of 'bounty hunter chic.' So.

"Your style is half mercenary and half monk," Jack pointed out to him, "Colors are a thing that can happen. Other than green, brown, black and grey."

"Green's a color!"

It was a very earthy green, there, Kanan.

"And I look good in it," he added, mumbling.

"Green is one color," Jack pointed out, "There are lots of others. I'm sure you'd look good in more than just green. I mean, we could go fuckin' wild and try some jewel tones on you. They'd go with your skin tone. Dark purple'd look good with your eyes."

Kanan paused a moment, trying to picture himself in purple.

The look on his face suggested that he was having difficulty managing it.

"Yeaaaah, I'm not sold, Jack."

"Guess we'll just have to go shopping sometime so I can make you try stuff on where there's a mirror you could see yourself," Jack chirped cheerfully.

Really, Kanan. Just how big a hole were you gonna dig yourself here?

Look, the second his shovel hit rocks, he'd just use the Force to start lifting them.

"Does getting to see myself while I'm trying things on mean I get veto power?"
