Town Hall, Wednesday Afternoon

"Okay, I don't know if you've all noticed, but there's some bullshit going on."

There was one upside to the current crisis: it took no effort at all to send out a few messages to the right groups, to inspire people to show up. "I hate vampires," she added. "Anyway, we took care of the ones that tried to attack the island yesterday, some people got hurt, blah blah blah, you know how this goes. Except we've got no idea what's going on right now."

Beat.

"And Baltimore's being weird. Sounds obvious to me. So show of hands, who wants to take a trip across the causeway and figure out what's going on here before it becomes even more of a pain in our ass?"

Fandom, your mayor was inspiring.

Or talk among yourselves. It's not like Tamsin is much of a speecher.

Against perhaps his better judgement, Bucky was here. Standing in the back with his baseball cap obscuring his face somewhat, and ready to flee at a moment's notice, to be sure, but here all the same.

Not that Tamsin's speech shed much light on the situation, beyond what he'd already seen yesterday.

Steve glanced over at the guy as he quickly marked where everyone was in the room just for personal reference, and startled slightly.

The guy looked kinda like Bucky. But everyone white guy with brown hair kind of looked like Bucky to Steve. Better not to look like a stalker and keep staring, right?

He took a couple more subtle ~~for Steve, so not that subtle~~ glances as Tamsin talked, but didn't move any closer.

Steve was the main reason Bucky was standing exactly where he was. He would've had to have been kidding himself if he'd actually thought Steve Rogers wouldn't show up to this thing, he didn't even need full rein over his memories to know that.

He made sure not to look Steve's way. And, after he caught Steve's glances at him from the corner of his eye - Jesus Christ, Rogers, learn some subtlety - he just tilted his head a little further, making the cap cast more of a shadow over his face.

But he didn't move to leave, because that would've drawn attention.

Steve was suited up--navy blue stealth Cap outfit ~~that definitely did things for his ass~~--but the shield was down by his feet and turned inward so no one tripped over it or got distracted by it.

He listened attentively to the briefing, sending quick messages to his people and getting a Yeah, sure, vampires, uh-huh reply from Natasha, which told him this wasn't a cross-universe problem, at least.

Even if Kincaid wasn't out, Rosa would definitely be here, ready to make a plan and do what needed to be done with everyone else in town to take care of it. She'd been through enough of these by now to know the drill, it was her job...

...and if she looked may a little more worried or impatient about it this time around, she'd deny it, of course. So hopefully anyone who noticed would just save themselves the breath and not mention it.

Eh, Miguel wouldn't mention it even if he did notice. He was going to nod at her and grin as he showed off his outfit, though.

Hey, if she kept calling him Tightpants, he might as well let her see them when he had to wear them.

Good thing he showed up when he did, though, as there was some considerable competition flying in from America's Ass over there.

Rosa offered a blink-and-you'll-miss-it smirk in return before nodding back. "Captain Tightpants. Always good to see you drop in."

"Not even literally this time," Miguel said. "I'd ask how you're doing, but you'd probably hit me, so I'll just ask if you've had any run-ins yet with the things we're going up against and any insights?"

And, just like that, Rosa was back to feeling deeply uncomfortable, and not even doing a very good job of hiding it. "Yeah," she said. "Whatever rushed the causeway when those kids took down the shield have mostly left; they...the kids....seemed to think it was there to keep us here, so whatever's out there wanted to make sure we didn't get in the way..."

She trailed off for a moment, but picked the thread back up after shifting a little. "Not that they didn't do a little damage before retreating, obviously. Some of the victims are accounted for. Sounds like Verity got Kincaid...." Her breath went in again, jaw tightening. "I found Blackstone this morning. It...wasn't pretty. But if it's any indication of what's going on out there..."

Miguel winced. "We'll find a way to fix them," he vowed. "And meanwhile, probably get to beat up the people that did it."

Maybe that would cheer Rosa up.

It did. A little. It even managed to get the ghost of a wistful smile to surface for a brief second.

"I am going to punch so many dumb, stupid vampire faces."

Which wasn't true. It would really just wind up being the one, but she'd get the most she could out of it.

Verity came back from Liam's shuttle pale and utterly furious. She quietly listened, fingers not very far from her knives (and axes and gun...) at her hip, and waited for someone to say something even remotely useful.

Want to head out to Baltimore? Raise your hand.

Tip looked around, then after a moment raised her hand.

These kinds of invasions sucked, but at least Fandom knew how to deal with them. The people in Baltimore were just kind of screwed if Fandom didn't help.

"I'll go," Keyleth said immediately, because what was she going to do otherwise, stay here and do nothing? Go to the clinic and help look after people, maybe, but there were people better equipped for that than her with her very minor healing abilities. And there wasn't a single fiber of her being that was okay with the idea of standing back and not helping.

Rosa grunted slightly, hands folded in front of her, as she looked around to see who was volunteering.

She didn't have to raise her hand, did she? Of course she was going; she figured it was sort of implied by her job description. These types of things were really the only times she felt she was even doing her job.

So....yeah. Implied. And a lift of her chin in confirmation when she caught Mayor McHotness's eye was about as much of a raised hand anyone was getting out of Rosa.

Yeah, Kanan's hand was going up.

Of course it was. He didn't put in ten years of sitting out everything... badly... to let Baltimore get overrun by whatever the hell those things were that had crashed onto the island.

Anakin raised his hand immediately.

Eric did not appreciate:

1) Being awake during the day, at all.
2) Bleeding from the ears, nose and eyes because of being awake during the day
and
3) Having to run from the bar under a barrier so he wouldn't burst into flame. Why didn't the other vampires burst into flame? He was so annoyed. If anyone was going to eat people on Fandom it was going to be him. Or eating people was wrong or something.

Whatever. Eric was here.

"If you can wait until closer to sunset, I can go," he offered laconically.

Miguel raised his hand. Hey, he was supposed to be a superhero, he was going to act like it.

If you're into that kind of thing.

"//Is this where I say 'not all vampires' and you hit me?//" Eric asked in Swedish.

"//Yes//," Tamsin replied brightly, in Norwegian-accented Swedish. "//And if you're lucky, I shut you up the fun way afterward.//"

Eric definitely looked interested. "//Do I have to be stupidly heroic for that?//"

"//Stupidly heroic people tend to get shot in their faces before they can use them for anything remotely interesting//," Tamsin said, tilting her head.

"//I've lived for several millennia by not being heroic,//" Eric said. "Let the ones in costume be stupid."

Yes, that was in English for the squirrels as he judged Steve's outfit.
