Pick Your Poison, Wednesday

Sparkle was kind of humming to himself as he settled in for a day at work. It was nice to not have to look after the running of the place anymore, even if he hadn't actually seen Iris since she'd gotten back (and hey, for all he knew, the LUSH fairies had managed to get their hands on her recipes or something), and spending a day sitting behind the counter, just contemplating soap seemed right about his speed.

Hopefully Iris (or the LUSH fairies, whichever) wouldn't mind that he'd skipped work last week. He'd been a vampire before. Twice. He really had no interest in repeating the experience.

Iris wandered down, figuring that she probably ought to let the minion (her minion?) know she was living above the shop and that yeah, she was here, if only so he'd stop wondering about LUSH fairies.

(What were LUSH fairies anyway?)

"Ain't there that fish thin' today?" she said, leaning against the doorframe, not caring if she startled him or not. "You're not goin'?"

She was going, for sure.

"Guess it's probably too late for you to get roped into whatever madness it'll be today by now anyway," Iris noted, smiling as Silly bopped down to land on her shoulder. "But if you want to next week or any other week, feel free, yeah? Can't be fussed 'bout you taking a day or two off when I weren't here for ages."

"If you figure that out, you can do that too," Iris said, since she… really didn't care. Tuesdays were sort of her day? But she could move. It wasn't like she had… anything else… going on, really.

... Maybe she ought to get a second job herself.

Perfect crime. Definitely a crime. Somehow.

"I usually open Tuesdays but if you want it, I don't care," Iris said, lifting one shoulder in a shrug. "How're things goin' otherwise?"

"Not getting eaten is generally a win."

As for the rest of that, well, Iris left the door frame, sliding around the counter.

"You'll never be happy here if you feel like you're hidin' here," Iris said, looking at the store. "That means it ain't home, not really, it's just a place to stay while you're hidin'. My trip… it were… somethin' else, I guess?"
intraspective: (huh?)

"You got ideas on how to leave the cage?" she asked, absently running a finger along Silly's head. "Like, make your get-a-way?"

Iris smiled at him, over her shoulder.

"I accidentally-on-purpose broke the timeline of my world. It's been… interesting."

Iris laughed.

"Wait what what?" she teased.

No clarity at all!

"I accidentally-on-purpose broke my world's timeline," she repeated, deeply amused at his reaction. "That surprisin'?"
