Syndulla Scrap, Thursday
Work, work, work, Vette's work was never done. Which... she kind of preferred that way, admittedly, especially this week. There were bits of scrap to be sorted today, some of them more, uh, scrappy than others, apparently. A rusty hinged thing that refused to budge no matter what she did with it was going to be a roadblock she didn't necessarily need to throw herself at, but was going to anyway.
Sure, the bolts in the hinges had rusted so hard they'd fused to the metal frame they were bolted into, and okay, the heads on those bolts had pretty much powderized once she'd tried to pry them loose, but that was all the more reason to see if she could have some luck with some metal cutters, and if that failed...
If you ever wanted to see a tiny slip of a Twi'lek taking a welding torch and a sledgehammer to a rusted-out husk of something that might very well have been farm equipment in another life, today was definitely your day.

"Hey." She made sure to smile. "That piece looks like it's been through a lot."

Vette glanced up at Breq, dusted some of the rust off her hands, and then let the sledgehammer she was swinging rest on her shoulder, turning a grin her way.
"If I have any say in the matter, it's going to go through a whole lot more," she replied. "This thing is beyond 'scrap' and heading right into 'health hazard' territory. It's gotta go."

"I wasn't too worried either way," Vette offered, smiling and shrugging. "Just so long as you're keeping a safe distance when I break out the heavy tools, you're allowed to hang around wherever you like."

"Everyone's in Chopper's way," Vette laughed, shaking her head a little. "Even if he likes you, odds are he probably knows better than you. That's just kind of how he is."

She was kind of in awe of that, and she'd spent a few years with pirates.

That was often useful, even if you didn't use it yourself.
"Does he know any music?"

And at that question, she paused.
"And you know, I don't know? That's something you'd probably have to ask him. He doesn't strike me as the musical type, but I've been wrong before."
