It seemed strangely appropriate to be back working at Stark Industries this summer after spending the better part of his years in high school in this exact store flirting with his now-husband.

...wow, he was old.

But he was back behind the table, poking at something electronic and wondering why the drawer filled up with kumquats every time he opened it.

"I believe," Ender announced, as he stepped into the shop bearing a large paper bag, "This is tradition."

It had mostly been tradition the other way around, but that had a certain poetry to it, too.

"Oooh," Ben said, his entire face lighting up, "a cute boy has come to visit me. I'll try to be cool about it."

He was absolutely failing. "Hi."

Ender laughed softly, putting the bag on the counter. "More importantly," he said, "A cute boy bearing burgers."

"I should marry this guy," Ben said, leaning in for a kiss. "Hi there."

"Better be careful, I think someone has designs," Ender teased gently. He kissed Ben, running his fingers through Ben's hair. "Hi, you."

Ben beamed at him. "Hi. It's so weird to be back here."

Ender laughed softly. "And with you the one behind the counter, no less."

"Right?" Ben agreed. "I have to productive instead of distracting."

"Are you sure you're up to the job?" Ender wondered.

"Not at all," Ben said, laughing. "It's been a while since I've been in charge of something structured."

"Remember to put your underwear on in the morning, and your shift starts at 9, not 'whenever you roll out of bed'," Ender said sagely.

"Underwear every morning?" Ben teased.
