Blackstone Foundry and Forge; Tuesday [05/14].
Well, now, the island just had to get up and do somehting that messed with her weapons again, now, didn't it? Amaya (who felt she was already dealing with a lot considering her current cat situation) had hoped it would be just a one-shoot thing, like some of the other weapon-related difficulties in the past, but nope. Looks like the weapons wall, instead of offering her the bright sheen of steel and metal when the light from the windows caught 'em just right, she was given a much more dull view of a lot of rock and bone and not a metal piece among them.
At least, she reasoned, they were still weapons? And, honestly, once she got a closer look at some of them, they were actually pretty clever. You could still do a lot of damage with a blunt weapon; in fact, that was generally what Amaya preferred for herself. And you could still get some pretty good sharp edges on rock and bone.
So it wasn't a complete bust. If anything, she was going to spend some time trying to recreate some of the innovations on the wall for herself, while trying to figure out what to do for her class this week if this hadn't cleared up by Thursday. There was always the Danger Shop, of course, but it just wasn't the same. But rock could still be mighty fun to work with...
If anything, it was a good distraction. She now knew thanks to radio that the cat who showed up the other day was Seivarden, which...made an awful lot of sense, once you had the pieces there in front of you. What didn't make sense was how she seemed to be utterly against the idea of going home, making a big stubborn fuss about it whenever Amaya brought up the suggestion. Maybe she and Peter had a falling out? Seivarden seemed to fall out of friendships more frequently than drop bears out of trees...but, as far as unexpected guests went, a cat Seivarden wasn't really too bad.
And Amaya may have taken a bit of smug satisfaction in making herself a cup of tea at a night and meeting Seivarden's very insistent requests for some with a teasing, chiding, "Now, now, now, I don't quite think tea is appropriate for cats, now, is it?"
Sure, she'd end up giving her some eventually, but not until after letting her sweat it out a bit first.
The Forge is open!
