All Around The Island, Early Hours of Monday Morning
Well, that had been an adventure. Gotten a little wild, a little primitive. But that was definitely a fun vacation, but not somewhere to stay. Certainly not anywhere to bring a child to. Fandom pictured Ingvar with dinosaurs of his very own and - no. Just no. Time to move on.
And so, as the sky began to lighten with the promise of false dawn, Fandom hopped realities once again.
At first, everything seemed normal. No prehistoric creatures, the plants and insects were all their correct sizes, everything that had been replaced by a dinosaur in town once again reverted to what it had been the previous week. For a long moment, everything was fine and normal.
And then, as the island settled into place, the waters began to rise. Higher and higher, deeper and deeper, water washed over the entirety of the island, flooding buildings and homes, swallowing trees and landmarks, bringing all sorts of seacreatures with it. An octopus swam into JGoB and decided to stay. A school of piranhas did the same at Mooby's, devouring every big of hamburger in sight and refusing to leave. Rickshaws turned to rafts and gondolas, and a large fin surfaced briefly in the middle of Apocalypse before sinking back into the dark water.
Some homes were submerged quickly. Others, the waters rose slowly as people slept, giving them a chance to wake up before they lost everything. More oddly, some places remained perfectly dry and intact, though how long that would last after a resident opened a door or a window was anybody's guess.
Beyond the Causeway was just more sea, the occasional broken remains of a building breaking up the sameness of the waters. There had been a civilization here once, but it had been swallowed by the sea.
Good morning, Fandom. Welcome to Waterworld.
