Eventually Nina's avoiding of her store—her responsibility ran out and she wound up there, dismally having to climb up onto the roof to access the building and then having to break into her own shop (and Rufus', but details) to survey the… damage.

The top floor—an unused apartment—was totally fine. Nicely dry, and Nina set the few things (her phone, her tablet) that she didn't want to get wet down there before bracing herself and heading for the rest of the store.

Only… well…

Nina stared at the wall of water that stayed a wall of water as she opened the door leading to the store proper…

And then a school of books swam by.

"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Nina closed the door, briefly, then opened it again.

No, no, the books were still swimming about gaily through the completely flooded store front. Nina took a seat, fascinated despite herself, and after a moment took a video of it, to send to Rufus.

When her phone buzzed a moment later it was with, the entirely unjustified question:

What did you do?

"Rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
