The island was starting to wonder if maaaaaybe it should have gone with a travel agent or something. Because after a nice, relaxing week back where things had been mostly normal, it had kited off to somewhere that was anything but. At first glance, the art deco style and the beautiful underwater landscape had seemed like an ideal place to visit, but...

It was cold and dark and clammy here. This wasn't the island's first experience being somewhere islands usually didn't go - it had traveled through space, after all - but becoming part of an underwater city was an entirely new and claustrophobic experience. Many parts were suddenly just gone - the Preserve, the beach, the wooded areas - and other areas just felt like they were falling apart.

And that was nothing compared to people the 'island' could feel moving around the surface. There was something about most of them that made it shudder. Which it did, causing more of the glass dome to crack and water to seep in. This whole visit seemed untenable.
