Ash and fire or no ash and fire, there was a diner to open (and coffee to drink), so here Miguel was.
The cook was despairing of trying to find anything for the special that wouldn't be ruined by the smell of fire in the air.
"Work with it?" Miguel suggested. "Tis the season for barbecue."
The cook gave him a withering glare.
Miguel shrugged.

Barbecue ribs
Grilled corn
Grilled watermelon
