Anyone else might have resented being posted to this tiny little nowhere island where nothing of consequence to the world at large ever seemed to happen. But Agent 'Kincaid' wasn't anyone else. The Cyber-Viral Implant he'd been given shortly after birth made sure that emotions like 'resentment' weren't an issue.
His loyalty was, unquestioningly, to the Taelon Synod. Zo'or had ordered him to take this temporary assignment, and although that left him feeling... something? About the fact that it left Da'an without a Protector, the CVI's programming made it impossible to refuse a direct order.
So he showed up, clocked in for his shift at the station, fielded any number of inane phone calls, and what little shred of free will he had left was spent contemplating when he'd get to go back home.
