Furnado Animal Shelter; Thursday [08/29].
Prompto had a busy, busy weekend ahead of him, but he figured he should still get in his shift at Furnado before completely giving in to probably a solid 48 hours of just flailing and freaking out and being nervous and excited and nercited, which was totally a thing, don't even! Truth be told, this whole Royal Birthday Celebration thing going down for Noctis tomorrow had everyone a little antsy; they'd never really done anything like this before, not to this extent, and it just had everyone wondering if there was some deeper meaning behind it, or if it was just simply one proud father wanting to do something big for his son's birthday. His son who was absolutely mortified by all of it.
Tomorrow was definitely going to be...interesting. And even if Noctis seemed to completely dread every aspect about it, Prompto had to admit, he was a little thrilled. There was going to be a parade, and Prompto was going to be in it at Noct's side (yeah, yeah, Iggy's and Gladio's, too), as an official Kingsglaive-in-Training, and it was kind of blowing his freaking mind!
And then, right after that, the very next day, the very next morning (ugh, he was going to have to get up so early, after a night of partying, to get back on time!), it was the Welcome Picnic. Already. Like, how??? And the welcome picnic meant a new semester, which meant the end of the last one, officially, which meant Yang was finally going to be heading home, and they hadn't even talked about it yet and he had no idea what that was going to mean for them, but he was too nervous to bring it up, not if he didn't have to, maybe if he never brought it up, they wouldn't have to talk about it, and everything would just be fine, but no matter what, he'd still gone and invited her to be his guest at the big birthday ball that was going on, and she'd said yes, and so that had to be a good thing, right? She wouldn't have said yes if her going home was going to be a bad thing, as far as they went....would she?
He was trying very hard not to think about it, and he was doing a terrible job with it, but, thankfully, Prompto had a lot of work to do. No, it wasn't work that had anything to do with the animals, although there was definitely a few breaks made to go play with puppies for a bit. No, the work Prompto had in store for him today involved an industrial size bottle of glitter, some colorful paints, a ginormous stack of what looked like junk mail, and a box of Band-Aids for the inevitable multitude of papercuts that would ensue.
What even was he working on?
Nothing....it was nothing. Don't worry about it...
Furnado is open!
