Atlas Gym, Monday (9/30)

Beau had not had any surprise visitors over the weekend, and she was probably never going to admit exactly how relieved she was by that. (Which was a lot. The idea of her father finding out about this place was more than a little bit terrifying.)

It probably had something to do with the almost cheerful way she was making her rounds today, not even stopping to fling some smartass remark at the morning spin class (best employee ever here) or doing more than roll her eyes at the guy who always took more weights off the rack than he could even handle and didn't put any of them back when he was done.

It probably also had something to do with how much energy she was putting into her staff drills, but that too was something she wouldn't be admitting.

[OOC: Gym/post open, of course!]

Caduceus had been mostly staying out of sight since he came to the island. It wasn't that the graveyard was a mess, just that it needed a little upkeep to get to Caduceus standards. Plus there was apparently reading to spirits which truth be told: he was totally into it.

So today Cad had decided to wander the town and get to know it a little better. It wasn't until he wandered by the gym that he heard something familiar. The sound of a piece of wood hitting something in a particular rhythm he had heard before.

He wandered into the building, ducking his head under the doorframe and spied the young monk he knew but didn't know. He stood there quietly watching her and waiting for an appropriate time to say something.

He knew better than to disturb a monk during their training routine.

Oh! Right. He was just standing there. Probably should say something.

"Hi! You're Beau. Or at least I think you're Beau."

He tilted his head and studied the monk for another moment.

"For some reason I'm thinking you're not my Beau. If that makes sense."

It probably didn't. He held out his large fur covered hand for a handshake and offered her a friendly smile.

"Caduceus Clay. Pleased to meet you. Again. Or at least for me this time around."

"Yeah, I'm that dude. I guess. I mean, I had armor on at the time," Caduceus said somewhat cluelessly lost at the term "metal."

"And hey, I get it. I know who you are but you don't know me," he continued with sincerity. "Trust has to be earned. Right now it's just one sided because I already trust you. Eventually it might even out. Right now it's just good to see a familiar face."

He did look ridiculously happy to see Beau. It meant he was on the right track. "If you don't mind me asking, how did you end up here? Do you know when it was you got her back in Wildmount?"

Oh, yeah. That attitude? No doubt that was totally Beau. But there were subtle differences. It wasn’t the same woman who came to him several weeks ago.

“Yeah. Someone did tell me that,” he said looking amused. “I think it might have been you or-“

He stopped. “Nah. You haven’t met that person yet. Or at least I don’t think you have. Listen, I know you have a routine to do. I’ll let you go and do that. If you’re up for it come by the graveyard sometime. I’m taking care of it for now. We’ll have tea. Yeah... tea sounds good.”

“Great. That’s great,” Caduceus said cheerfully. “Again: no pressure. I get it’s weird. When you feel comfortable about it. Come on by. It’s nothing creepy I assure you”

Well the tea is made from dead people but she didn’t need to know that yet.

He gave her another reassuring smile. “I’ll let you get back to you’re workout. Thanks for your time.”
