Trooper Station; Monday [09/30].

Coming into the station that morning for her usual desk shift, Rosa was feeling glad that the obnoxiousness of Parents Weekend was over and that she now had proof that she much preferred it when no one showed up for her. She would admit, though, at least to herself, that it had actually been nice to see her dad (she would not think about how it was just her dad, dammit) and Holt had been a pleasant surprise, too. She was glad she kept pretty low during the whole thing, which probably helped it be not so bad.

On the other hand, though, she realized that she had missed a lot of opportunities for the weekend by mostly distancing herself from it. Sure, watching Holt interact with the troopers could have been incredibly brain-breaky and terrible, but it had far more potential to be hilarious and good fuel to keep in her pocket for days like this where apparently Ralph had experienced some sort of tragic loss and could not stop crying. It was super annoying, and Rosa didn't care about the details, but it was impossible for a few things not to bubble up and once Rosa started to realize that there was a good chance this had something to do with a sandwich, she was officially done.
