Devil's Nest - Wednesday
There was a piano. Jack was giving it a whole bunch of sour looks as she came in and caught the keys. "Is Northman having some sort of fucking emotional crisis, Tiny?" Tiny went a bit pokerfaced and shrugged. He wasn't dumb enough to answer that - ever. "I mean, for fucksake, have we scared off that many DJ's that we have to get someone in here to pick out 'Chopsticks' for the crowd? People come here to drink and shake their shit and find someone to hook up with, if he turns it into some slow piano jazz bar with a bunch of Barry Manilow bullshit, I'm out."
Tiny gave her an incredibly pointed look. "It's easier to yell at DJ's, asshole!" she answered, "I'm not personally insulting their fuckin' life skills when I tell them they suck!" .... You kind of were, Jack.
She went in to do inventory, shoved it in the till with 'What the fuck? Piano?' on it and then.. went over to the piano and began absently playing a piece of music. Tiny's jaw dropped. "What?" Jack demanded, "I stole a piano once!"
She'd done no such thing. Liara had taught her. Jack could also play 'Chopsticks' but .. she liked this better.
And now she missed Liara. Great.

Re: Bar
"Yeah, Jack, I did," Kaidan pointed out, "The comm was open. He screamed when the Reaper died. That wasn't on you. That wasn't you."
Re: Bar
"The fuck it wasn't," Jack just repeated. "That's me, Kaidan. That part? It ain't never gonna change. It can't. I can fucking live with it. Ain't nobody else gotta. Not ever."
Re: Bar
"You controlled the situation, Jack," Kaidan pointed out, "It wasn't you, but even so, you took control of yourself. You wouldn't have, before."
After a minute he shook his head. "You didn't hurt Kanan, Jack. The contact with the Reapers hurt him. I was there while he recovered. He was about on par with me, and you sure as hell didn't hurt me. Battle stress," he shrugged, "Totally normal. He dealt with it."
Re: Bar
"Yeah?" Jack asked bitterly, "How'd that go? How much medigel did you have to pump into him?"
Re: Bar
"None," Kaidan said pointedly, "It was textbook battle stress. That doesn't need medigel."
Re: Bar
"No, it needs about a liter of good strong grain alcohol, loud music and a whole lot of other shit he don't do," she glared, "Not like you could take him out clubbing, Kaidan."

Re: Bar
Kaidan shrugged, "I slept. Had to, if I'd stayed awake, the hamster wheeling my brain would've been doing would've kept him awake, and he needed the rest."
Re: Bar
"Shit," Jack snorted, "That fucking works I should throw him in your apartment once a week."
Re: Bar
"Huh. Temperature's perfectly normal. Thought maybe you had a fever, offering to let someone else stay in your room like that."

Re: Bar
Just gonna. Drink the soda.
"That's not a real good way to get me to sleep," he noted, "Besides. I sleep enough."

Re: Bar
Kaidan shrugged, "This one was ugly, but it got less ugly, and now I've got some downtime before they need me for anything else. I'll be fine, Jack. Always am."
